day 3

Posted on: 30 December 2010

Your idea of the perfect first date.

Hmmm, this is tough. I prefer thinking in terms of A perfect first date … THE implies there is only one. Sometimes I’m all about semantics. Also, I like options.

Simply put, what I’m after in a date is quality conversation. We could be strolling along the seawall, or lounging at a tea house, it doesn’t really matter.

Though if you want to dazzle me, let’s throw in archery and horseback riding. (I will forever remember cantering across the mountains in Antigua, as well as spearing that balloon from across the gym in PE 10.)

day 2

A photo of something you ate today.

A COBS Bread cinnamon scone, just now, in the middle of hanging the laundry up to dry in front of the fireplace. No, we don’t have a dryer. We’re so ghetto. And Asian.

I love scones. I’d eat them every day, assuming raisins aren’t one of the ingredients. Even if they are, I’d probably pick most of them out and still eat the scone. Because I love carbs.

day 1

Posted on: 29 December 2010

A photo of yourself and a description of how your day was.

Today was round and mint green in colour, languid like ink drops diffusing into water. Oh, not that kind of description?

All week I’ve been staying up till ridiculous hours. Subconscious practicing for parenthood, maybe. Or just milking the holiday season. Anyway, I slept in, missed breakfast.

Kevin and I caught the late afternoon showing of The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader at Strawberry Hill. Generally I’m not much of a movie-watcher, but the Dawn Treader was my favourite book in the series. I think the movie did it justice. Made me want to read them all again; it’s been, what, sixteen years?

Then band practice in the evening for New Year’s Eve service. Wow, new year’s. It’s crazy to think of.

I used to blog actively, back in high school. And before that I kept journals and diaries. Then I met Kevin, and journalling became kind of redundant.

So the habit is gone. But I’m half-thinking of doing this:

Day 1: A photo of yourself and a description of how your day was.
Day 2: A photo of something you ate today.
Day 3: Your idea of the perfect first date.
Day 4: Your favourite photograph of your best friend.
Day 5: A photo of yourself two years ago.
Day 6: A photo of an animal you’d love to keep as a pet.
Day 7: Your dream wedding.
Day 8: A song to match your mood.
Day 9: A photo of the item you last purchased.
Day 10: A photo of your favourite place to eat.
Day 11: What’s in your makeup bag?
Day 12: A photograph of the town you live in.
Day 13: Your favorite musician and why?
Day 14: A TV show you’re currently addicted to.
Day 15: Something you don’t leave the house without.
Day 16: Your celebrity crush.
Day 17: A photo of you and your family.
Day 18: Something you crave a lot.
Day 19: Another picture of yourself.
Day 20: The meaning behind your blog name.
Day 21: A photo of something that makes you happy.
Day 22: A letter to someone who has hurt you recently.
Day 23: 15 facts about you.
Day 24: A photo of something that means a lot to you.
Day 25: What’s in your purse?
Day 26: A photo of somewhere you’ve been to.
Day 27: A picture of you last year and now and how have you changed since then?
Day 28: Your favorite movie.
Day 29: Something you could never get tired of doing.
Day 30: A photograph of yourself today and three good things that have happened in the past 30 days.

Most likely I won’t be on this for 30 consecutive days, but I’ll try to get to the end. My only reservation is … so many photos! Argh.
